Whether new or rehabilitation design, CPI helps our customers assure long equipment and structure life by recommending the correct coating or lining system. And when failures occur prior to CPI's involvement, we help determine the cause of failure and apply that knowledge to improve design, operation or maintenance. CPI provides a wide array of services encompassing virtually all structures, equipment, exposure conditions and substrates.

CPI/CTL is now providing an innovative test method for the rapid evaluation of coatings and linings performance under severe wastewater exposure conditions. The test method includes coating panel exposure to municipal sewer acidic gases, sodium chloride, and sulfuric acid at elevated temperatures. Coated steel and concrete panels are exposed for 10, 20 and 28 days. At each interval, the coatings are evaluated using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to assess the extent of coating film permeation. Additionally, physical examination, adhesion testing, and physical property testing are performed on coated steel and concrete coupons, along with free film coupons, to further evaluate coating performance. This test method originally developed by Tnemec Company, CPI, and others has been shown to provide very useful performance data for the successful development and selection of protective coatings and linings for aggressive wastewater headspace environments. Several of the major worldwide coating manufacturers have contracted with CPI/CTL to provide these testing services.
